FAQs

Do I need a referral to see a paediatric dietitian?
No, you do not need a referral to book an appointment with our Brisbane paediatric dietitians. Referrals can provide useful information about your child, but are not required.
If you have a Medicare GP referral, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate towards your consultation. Talk with your GP about your eligibility.

Where is your clinic located?
We are based at our Sandgate clinic in Brisbane. We also offer:
  • Telehealth consultations across Queensland
  • Home visits for families who need in-home support
This ensures flexible access to expert paediatric nutrition and feeding therapy for children with growth, feeding, or nutrition concerns.

How long are appointments with a paediatric dietitian?
  • Initial consultations: 60–75 minutes
  • Review consultations: 45–60 minutes
Longer appointments allow us to provide detailed feeding assessments, nutrition plans, and practical strategies tailored to your child’s needs.

Do you offer Telehealth sessions or hybrid appointments?
Yes! Our Brisbane paediatric dietitians provide:
  • Telehealth appointments for families across Queensland
  • Hybrid options combining face-to-face and telehealth sessions
  • Face-to-face consultations at our Sandgate clinic when needed
We work around your family’s schedule to make appointments convenient and flexible.

Do you always provide reports?
Reports are provided only when requested or clinically necessary.
  • We avoid unnecessary over-servicing or over-charging.
  • Costs and timelines for reports are discussed with families beforehand.
  • All appointments include an optional summary letter to your GP or paediatrician about your child’s nutrition or feeding plan.

What are the funding options for paediatric dietitian services?
  • We are a private billing practice and do not bulk bill.
  • Medicare rebates are available with a GP referral but do not cover the full cost of specialist paediatric consultations.
  • Private health rebates are accepted.
  • NDIS clients (Plan-managed or Self-managed) are also supported.
We provide expert-level paediatric dietitian care, including feeding therapy, fussy eating support, tube feeding management, and complex nutrition planning.

What is your cancellation policy?
  • 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations.
  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows incur a 100% fee.
  • Repeated no-shows may result in discharge from our service.
Why this policy matters: It ensures families waiting for appointments get quicker access, and helps us maintain affordable, specialist-level care for all clients.
